In partnership with Empower Me, The City of Calgary is offering multilingual workshops and personalized support that make home energy and safety information easy to understand and put into action.
Whether you're just getting started or already making changes, we're here to support and empower you on your gas, electricity and water-saving journey.
Anyone is welcome to attend a workshop! If you are interested in learning more, please sign up for a workshop.
You’ll get a better understanding of how Alberta’s energy system works— like who your utility providers are and what roles they play. You’ll learn how to read your energy and water bills and spot key charges. We’ll walk you through installing simple efficiency upgrades at home. LED bulbs, water-saving devices like low flow showerheads, window coverings, weather stripping – and more can help you save energy, water and money.
We’ll talk about the different types of heating and cooling systems commonly used in Alberta homes, and simple safety tips to keep things running smoothly. You’ll see how your everyday habits—like how you heat your space or use water—can make a big difference for both your bills and the environment. And when it comes to rebates and efficiency programs, we’ll show you what’s available and how to take advantage of them.
Sign up for a workshop and we’ll contact you as soon as there’s one happening in your area, online, or in your preferred language. In the meantime, you can always reach out to us at empowerme@kambo.com to get connected with an Empower Me Mentor for personalized tips on making your home more efficient, safe and comfortable.
Yes! While we won’t have staff available to supervise children, you’re welcome to bring them along and keep them with you during the session. It’s also a fun chance for kids to learn how they can help save gas, electricity, and water at home!
Workshops are offered in a variety of languages, depending on which Energy Mentors are available at the time. Select your preferred language when you register. We do our best to meet as many language needs as possible, but please note that we can’t always guarantee a workshop or translator will be available in every language.
